First college sport is an important part of the culture since 1890. So this means that education & athletics have been together for a very long time.
Second the reputation of the university plays a crucial role & sports is one of the best way to represent their university
Third, if a team competes strongly they get money through donations.
All together the number of attendance who will sign up at the university is going to increase too.
Last we never should forget the team spirit, the basketball & football who generate a lot of money through television money.
This money is then distributed among all sports and divided fairly between the sexes (50/50)
